Topics of Multidisciplinary Meetings

These multidisciplinary meetings are organized via videoconference and on request, and are open to external participants.

They bring together hematologists, obstetricians, pharmacologists, and anesthetists.

The goal is to discuss the management of patients with malignant hematological disorders diagnosed during pregnancy.

Participants include clinical or laboratory hematologists, pediatricians, geneticists, genetic counselors, psychologists, advanced practice nurses, and sometimes oncologists.

The cases presented may involve:

  • Discussions on the indications for genetic screening to be performed on a patient or family (dedicated panels or within the framework of a pre-indication of the France Genomic Medicine Plan)

  • Exchanges to determine the pathogenicity of identified variants

  • Exchanges to establish recommendations for monitoring and prevention for patients and relatives carrying a genetic predisposition

These are bi-monthly national meetings organized by the National Reference Center for Aplastic Anemia (including adult and pediatric clinicians, biologists, and geneticists) via videoconference.

The cases discussed involve patients with acquired or congenital aplastic anemia and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria for whom the reference center is consulted for diagnostic and therapeutic management.

A written opinion is provided to the requesting physician.

These weekly multidisciplinary meetings (MDMs) bring together physicians specializing in malignant and non-malignant hematological disorders (acute leukemia, myelodysplastic and myeloproliferative syndromes, acquired or congenital aplastic anemia, etc.), physicians from the allogeneic transplant team, as well as the transplant coordination team (HLA typing, transplant logistics).

The goal is to decide on allogeneic stem cell transplant indications and organize its logistics (transplant date, donor search and selection, pre- and post-transplant treatment protocols).
