Objective

Our objective: to develop an engaging training program tailored to the needs of healthcare professionals, serving both the teams of the Leukemia Institute and all those involved in the fight against leukemia.

We are launching two first educational videos for nurses:

  • Managing uncertainty
  • Pathophysiology of acute myeloid leukemia (coming soon)

These videos mark the beginning of a series of educational resources dedicated to nurses working in clinical leukemia care units. Developed as part of the Leukemia Institute’s Education Mission, this initiative aims to support healthcare professionals in their daily hematology practice by providing them with relevant and accessible training content.

Educational video: "Managing uncertainty"

This educational video is the first in a series entitled “Psychological Support”, designed for nurses involved in leukemia care. It addresses a sensitive and essential topic: managing uncertainty.

In the context of a disease such as leukemia, uncertainty is ever-present.

It accompanies patients and their loved ones throughout every stage of the care journey… but it is also part of healthcare professionals’ daily experience.

In this video, you will discover the perspectives of three nurses who share their experiences of supporting patients as they face uncertainty. The video also includes a short animated clip explaining how uncertainty develops throughout the care journey and highlighting the tools and approaches available to help patients better navigate it.

Through these testimonies, one key message emerges: the role of healthcare professionals is not to control everything, but to be present, to provide explanations, to offer reassurance whenever possible, and to support patients when uncertainty remains.
